Nigeria Blog Day 4
Day 4 in Nigeria was jam packed! Zach and I were planning on getting to the gym before our day started and it immediately got off to a terrible start. We went to bed at 3:30am (thank you jetlag) and skipped our 6am gym session. The front desk lady gave us a call at 8am saying that the during the 5:45am wake up call I asked her for, I picked up and just slammed the phone on her (I have no recollection of this). But after a hearty English breakfast and pancakes, we made our way to the HEI office for the first time and were immediately taken away by their multiple awards, all won since 2019!
We then went over to the FRSC headquarters to run our first in-person training in Nigeria. We were blown away by the interest - we had planned for 40 individuals and over 65 showed up! We were also so impressed with our TOTs, who have done such a wonderful job motivating our first responders and teaching them effectively. Check out a few photos from our training posted below.
After the training, I made a friend named Destiny. He was a great kid and a huge help in cleaning up after the training session - though he a did need a bit of help getting lifted off the ground. Photo and video evidence attached!
The night consisted of some food, sleep and getting ready for tomorrow. We have a lot of meetings scheduled and we’ll be popping out the business suits for them! Take a peek tomorrow to see who all we’ll be meeting with. O Daaro (goodnight in Yoruba)! - Ashwin
