Nathanael Smith, MD, MBA

Medical Director

Dr. Nathanael J. Smith is the Medical Director for LFR International. As Medical Director, he is responsible for curriculum development as monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum, and implementation of curriculum changes. Dr. Smith is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis (WashU). At WashU, Dr. Smith serves as the Associate Medical Director of the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Emergency Department and the Director for Global Health Initiatives. He completed a Global Health Equity Fellowship at Boston Medical Center, Emergency Medicine Residency at Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Consortium, and medical school at Meharry Medical College. Outside of work, Nathanael enjoys spending time with his wife and son, traveling, and helping with small-group activities at church.
